Ed's Roast Recipe

Ingredients

  • Use any Roast: Rump, Bottom Round, Top Round, or Chuck.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup water or beef broth
  • 2 cups Vegetables - potatoes, carrots, onions - cubed and peeled

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle seasonings over roast and place in roaster.
  2. Brown roast in pan on all sides to seal in juices.
  3. Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Leave uncovered for 15 minutes
  4. Add vegetables and liquid, cover and reduce heat to 300 degrees for approximately 30 minutes. (18-20 minutes per pound of roast for medium rare.)
  5. Use meat thermometer to test for doneness. Remember the roast will continue to cook after it is removed from the oven.
